Show day is fast approaching and as the final preparations are made for what promises to be a stunning afternoon of fun and entertainment the organising committee are putting out a plea for extra hands to come and help in the immediate build up time to the show; the show day itself and the clear up day afterwards.
Chris Boundy, Committee Chairman says, “we are very fortunate in Montgomery to have such a loyal and willing band of helpers each year. But the show gets bigger and bigger and as result we really need more people to help us”.
So if YOU could help – even if it is only for a couple of hours – please be available at the show site in Montgomery on any of the following dates and make yourself known to Chris Boundy or other helpers there:
Friday, 18th August 2017, from 9am: The day is spent erecting tents, marquees, marking out the site and generally preparing for show day. Exhibitors arrive during the day and may also need help. The work day generally runs from approx 9 am – 5 pm, so if you can be available for all or part of this it would be much appreciated.
Saturday, 19th August 2017, from 8.30am: additional volunteers will be welcome to help on a variety of duties throughout the day of the show. Such help will insure the smooth running of the event.
Saturday, 19th August 2017, from 6 pm: help will be appreciated to re-arrange the main marquee in readiness for the Sunday luncheon following its use as the main Horticultural venue.
Sunday, 20th August 2017, from 4.30 pm: help in dismantling the show site for a few hours will be much appreciated and again volunteers should report to Chris Boundy or other committee members at the Show site
The 2017 show takes place on Saturday August 18th – starting with the Carnival Parade (12noon); and the show is open between 1pm – 5pm.
